Cleveland Museum of Natural History Works With CCA
to Redesign Exhibit Galleries

04.06.10 Christopher Chadbourne & Associates (CCA) has recently completed schematic exhibit design for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History (CMNH) expansion and renovation. Staffed by internationally recognized scientists and researchers, CMNH is one of the preeminent natural history museums in the country, and has an extremely important and unique collection related to human evolution and health in the world. Fentress Architects is the designer for the building expansion/renovation.

Charged by the museum to "revolutionize the way natural history museums present nature, science, and health, as you have

with social history museums," CCA, working with the Institute of Learning Innovation, Donna Lawrence Productions and Second Story Interactive Studios, has explored ways to transform and add to the existing galleries to create a dynamic museum experience that speaks to and engages visitors of all ages and learning styles.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for us," said Project Manager Andrea Medalie. "The museum has challenged us to make the museum 'the coolest place in Cleveland, with the most extraordinary exhibits on human evolution on the planet.'"

Joel Alpern, Director of Exhibits at CMNH, said of CCA and the master plan, "We’re still lifting our jaws up off the floor after receiving the finished master plan—Bravo! It’s a great personal and professional honor to work with you."
