In a press release issued on April 14, the National law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) announced that it will break ground on October 14 for the new National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, DC. Christopher Chadbourne & Associates (CCA) has been working with NLEOMF to design exhibitions for the nation's largest and most comprehensive museum honoring the duty and sacrifice of America's law enforcement officers.
The Museum will be built on Federal land across the street from the existing National Law enforcement Officers Memorial in historic Judiciary Square, the symbolic seat of the nation's criminal justice system.

"Almost ten years after Congress authorized this project, and following a lot of hard work, planning and generosity…, we are very excited and eager to get shovels in the ground," said Craig W. Floyd, chairman and chief executive officer of the Memorial Fund. "Law enforcement officers have been serving and sacrificing for our nation dating back to the earliest days of American history. Their story deserves to be told."
Using state-of-the-art technology and mining a rich artifact collection, the museum will leverage stories evoked by key artifacts and oral histories. Interactive exhibitions, coupled with the use of smart phones, will allow visitors to walk in an officer's shoes and experience firsthand what it is like to make life-or-death decisions, solve crimes and keep Americans safe while maintaining a free and open society.
