Christopher Chadbourne & Associates (CCA) is engaged in the design of the exhibits for the National Museum of the United States Army through a contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The state-of-the-art museum will honor Soldiers, preserve the history of the United States’ oldest military branch, and educate visitors about the Army’s role in the development of this nation. With a scheduled opening of summer 2013, the museum will be located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, 20 miles south of Washington D.C.

central 360-degree immersive theatrical experience. The exhibitions, focused on the personal stories of Army Soldiers, will be joined with thousands of artifacts, documents, and images tracing the history of the United States Army. Also being planned by CCA and the Institute for Learning Innovation is a 5,000 square foot education pavilion, a high-tech exhibit wing of the museum focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles. "We foresee the National Army Museum as being one of the most unique, compelling and educational attractions in the country, and we believe the Army has selected two highly creative and distinctively credentialed firms to help us make it so," said Judson Bennett, Director of the Museum, referring to CCA and architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).
