		<description>As part of the National Park Service’s celebration of the Centennial of Flight, these rich exhibitions cover the careers of Orville and Wilbur Wright and their Dayton contemporary, the great African American poet and writer Paul Lawrence Dunbar. The exhibitions are highly interactive, while the graphics curve and soar in the spirit of flight.

		<description>2009 THEA AWARD WINNER: OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT–MUSEUM

The United States Marine Corps esprit is rooted in history and traditions. The task was to convey that history through the eyes of Marines, while appealing to a public audience as well. These exhibitions utilize thousands of artifacts, audio-visual presentations, bold graphics and highly immersive sets to transport visitors into the boots of Marines.

		<description>SMITHSONIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AMERICAN HISTORY

This exhibition explores how wars have shaped the nation’s history and transformed society.
Poignant objects, first person accounts, audio-visual presentations and interactive experiences offer
a provocative look at how Americans fought to establish the country’s independence, determine its borders, shape its concepts of freedom, and define its role in world affairs. The audience response
to the exhibition has been unprecedented in terms of both the sheer numbers who are visiting
and the intensity with which they are engaging with exhibit content.

		<description>Exhibits at the Center complement research labs and an education center as they engage visitors with the geology, biology, and history of Presque Isle, one of the world’s most geologically and ecologically dynamic places. These unique exhibitions were developed in collaboration with various artists engaged by Christopher Chadbourne &#38; Associates. Scenic work is painted onto juxtaposed sheets of glass; origami birds float through the space; and three towers holding 150 handmade whirligigs spring to life at the touch of a button.

2007 THEA AWARD WINNER: OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT–MUSEUM

On June 4, 1944, the U.S. Navy captured the German U-505 and commandeered the sub’s Enigma code machine. This exhibit begins with the broader context of WWII, the magnitude of the U-Boat threat, and formation of the hunter/killer task force. Emerging to overlook the below-ground chamber, they encounter the 280-foot sub. The gripping narrative of the capture and a tour of the sub give way to large-scale interactive exhibits on “how subs work,” “tracking subs” and “life on board a sub.”

		<description>Nearly 3 million people visit Old Faithful every year. They want to learn how it works. Chadbourne teamed closely with National Park Service experts, scientists and educators to develop exhibits that connect the seen to the unseen—hot spots, massive volcanoes, shifting tectonic plates, and earthquakes to geysers, mudpots, fumaroles, and hot springs. In the Young Scientist gallery, children engage with a ceiling-high geyser; exhibits that teach how to identify animal tracks; jawbones, as clues to why animals in the park live shorter lives...and then venture out to make their own discoveries.

		<description>DISCOVERING THE REAL GEORGE WASHINGTON

2008 THEA AWARD WINNER: OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT–MUSEUM

The Education Center entry gallery portrays a CSI-like forensic investigation that reconstructed the physical characteristics of Washington as teenage surveyor, general and president. The remaining galleries and immersive theaters engage visitors in learning about the character, actions and legacy of this “indispensable American.” The Revolutionary War Theater takes visitors inside the key battles of the war and employs 4D effects, such as crossing the Delaware with fog and snow.

		<description>Three unique galleries expand visitors’ understanding of history, culture and stewardship of our nation’s rivers and their impact on our oceans. RiverWays invites visitors to learn how America’s rivers have shaped our nation’s history and culture. Rivers to the Sea explores the conservation of our nation’s rivers and their impact on our oceans. RiverWORKS! is an interactive, hands-on children’s gallery, where the young (and young at heart) learn while having fun.&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392783/165 mrma _mg_3382.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="458" width_o="1294" height_o="885" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392783/165 mrma _mg_3382_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

		<description>The Louisiana State Museum surveys the state’s natural, social and cultural history, focusing on Louisiana’s uniqueness and its role in the development of the United States. Key periods and events in the historical experience of African Americans are told through unflinching accounts of the slave market in New Orleans and the chilling effect of the Supreme Court ruling on Plessy v. Ferguson. Louisiana’s cultural richness is celebrated as visitors are immersed in its music and take a roadtrip through the state in Discovering the Soul of America.&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392261/LSM1.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="446" width_o="1348" height_o="899" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392261/LSM1_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392261/LSM3.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="451" width_o="1335" height_o="899" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392261/LSM3_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392261/LSM4.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="446" width_o="1348" height_o="899" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/106092/1392261/LSM4_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; "We just spent two hours in the new museum and need to go back.
